North Dakota edges St. Lawrence

• NORTH DAKOTA 3, ST. LAWRENCE 2: Steve Pattyn's goal with 34 seconds left in the second period gave UND (5-7-2) a 3-1 lead and the home team hung on for a series split with the Saints (8-6-2) despite being outshot 13-2 in the third period. Rocco Grimaldi had a shorthanded goal for North Dakota and Connor Gaarder a power-play goal. St. Lawrence, which won 5-2 on Friday, outshot UND 27-24 in the nonconference game.

• MIAMI (OHIO) 6, BEMIDJI STATE 3: Alex Wideman and Devin Loe scored two goals apiece as the No. 13 RedHawks (8-6-2) beat the host Beavers (5-8-3) in the nonconference game with three unanswered goals in the third period. Austin Czarnik, the center on Miami's top line, had five assists. Radoslav Illo had two goals and Jeff Jubinville one for Bemidji State.

• MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO 7, ALASKA ANCHORAGE 3: Jean-Paul Lafontaine and Jonny McInnis each scored twice on power plays as the Mavericks (7-7, 5-3 WCHA) routed the visiting Seawolves (6-6-2, 3-5-2). Zach Stephan also had a fifth power-play goal for MSU Mankato, which was 5-for-6 on its power-play chances while Alaska Anchorage was 0-for-5. Scott Allen had two goals for the Seawolves. Rob Gunderson started in goal for the visitors but was replaced by Chris Kamal after giving up three goals in 16 minutes.

• UNION 4, PENN STATE 3: Max Novak's goal for the No. 15 Dutchmen (7-3-2) at 13:10 of the third period broke a 3-3 tie in the nonconference game. The Nittany Lions (3-6-1) fell behind 3-0 before scoring the next three goals. Eric Scheid started the rally with an unassisted goal with 23 seconds left in the second period. Patrick Koudys and Kenny Brooks scored PSU's other goals.
