St. Thomas Academy upset Robbinsdale Cooper, ranked No. 3 in Class 3A by Minnesota Basketball News, 78-77 on Saturday afternoon in a matchup of the Tip Off Classic at the Lindbergh Center in Hopkins.

Jack Thompson had a game-high 37 points for the Cadets, while Noah Chamberlain added 27.

The Hawks fell behind by as much as 15 points before clawing their way back, but they missed nine free throws in the second half.

Majay Murphy and Denzil Walker scored 16 and 14, respectively, for Cooper.

St. Thomas Academy is 3-0, with wins last week over St. Anthony and Richfield. They host Shakopee and Apple Valley next week. The Hawks will come back to Hopkins on Thursday to play the No. 2, 4A Royals.

Hopkins 78, Lakeville North 72: Zeke Nnaji led the Royals past the No. 3 Panthers. He had a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Kerwin Walton added 17 points, making five three-pointers. Tyler Wahl had 22 points and 12 rebounds for Lakeville North.

DeLaSalle 70, Wayzata 49: The Islanders, ranked No. 1 in Class 3A, outscored the Class 4A, No. 7 Trojans by 20 points in the first half and rolled to victory. Jamison Battle led the Islanders with 40 points. Jacob Beeninga scored 15 for Wayzata.

Minnetonka 105, Rochester Mayo 77: Cameron Steele's 43 points boosted the Skippers past the Spartans. Gabe Madsen led Mayo with 21 points.

Totino-Grace 91, Brooklyn Center 70: Eric Krieger led the Eagles with 23 points. Sophomore Devin Burger scored 16 and his brother Riley, a senior, had 14. Quayavant Douglas had a game-high 24 points for the Centaurs.
