FORT MYERS -- Francisco Liriano will start for the Twins today and John Lackey for the Red Sox at City of Palms Park.

It's a split-squad game for the Red Sox, who have have their team playing the Rays in Port Charlotte. The Fort Myers Mayor's Cup is tied 1-1 with five games remaining.

Spoke with RHP Loek Van Mil this morning. He had an MRI on his right shoulder Friday but wasn't overly concerned.

"They already said it wasn't anything major," he said. "I think I might have overstretched it."

The other day, I listed two left fielders in my Twins starting lineup. When the office called with a heads up, I said, "Good, I'm already in midseason form."

Hopefully I'll get this one right. Ben Revere gets the start in center field for the Twins. When he replaced Denard Span in center field here on Thursday night, the PA guy had the right uniform number (87), but the wrong team, so Revere was introduced as Boston's No. 87, Zach Daeges.

Revere told me he didn't hear it, and he didn't seem fazed. The right fielder robbed him of an extra-base hit in the right-center gap. Revere seemed half-way to second by the time the ball was caught. The kid can fly.

Update: Jesse Crain was scheduled to pitch today but came down with the stomach flu.

Dmitri Young is at today's game with his 12-year-old son, visiting Delmon. Dmitri has retired from playing and seems in great spirits. By the way, Delmon's nephew, Owen, looks like another prospect.
