Augusta, Ga.

Just watched Sammy Schmitz warm up on Wednesday morning at The Masters.

He went through his bag on the range, then practiced pitching and putting.

His coach, Joe Greupner of Braemar, said Schmitz plans to play nine holes this morning and then participate in the Par 3 tournament.

He's played a remarkable amount of golf in the last week, but his caddie, Jonathan Hanner, said he'll get to rest tonight and that ``I don't think he's going to be tired once the adrenaline kicks in tomorrow."

Masters veterans often tell first-year Masters players not to overdo the practice, because the hilly course can wear out the legs before the tournament even starts.

What's interesting is how much Schmitz seems to fit in with the tour pros. He looks like a pro and swings like a pro. Where Augusta National will test is game is in length and reading what will be faster greens on the weekend.

I'll be provided blog updates and a lot of coverage in the actual newspaper all week. Thanks for reading.
