U.S. team captain Davis Love III and European captain Darren Clarke are in town the next several days for a series of events a year in advance of next September's Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska.

Clarke will play Hazeltine on Saturday morning, returning to a course where he played the 2002 and 2009 PGA Championships. Officials from the Vikings, Twins, Wild and Timberwolves will welcome both captains at a Monday morning breakfast that Gov. Mark Dayton also will attend in downtown Minneapolis.

Monday night, Golf Channel personality David Feherty moderates a conversation with Love and Clarke at an Orpheum Theatre "Countdown to the Ryder Cup: An Evening With the Captains" program. Both men will part of a news conference at Hazeltine National on Tuesday morning.

In between, Love and Clarke will conduct a 30-minute, social-media chat on Periscope Monday at 3:30 p.m. and do a Q&A on Facebook as well.

Tickets for the Monday night program are available at HennepinTheatreTrust.org.

The Ryder Cup will be played at Hazeltine National for the first time Sept. 27-Oct. 2, 2016, a week later that usual because of golf's Olympic debut in Brazil in August.

A limited number of general-public tickets for three practice days and three days of competition will be sold by lottery. Register for it through Wednesday at Rydercup.com.
