ORLANDO -- Jets coach Rex Ryan said at the AFC coaches' breakfast on Tuesday that he did not give any thought to the fact the Vikings also were in pursuit of LaDainian Tomlinson as the teams competed for the free-agent running back.

Tomlinson visited the Vikings first and then went to meet with the Jets. He signed a two-year contract with the Jets that reportedly is worth $5.1 million with an escalator that could boost it to $5.6 million. Tomlinson told national radio host Dan Patrick that he actually turned down more money from the Vikings.

"I never worried about the other people involved in it," Ryan said when asked about the Vikings. "We just presented ourselves and obviously it was good enough. We've got a great situation here, we have a philosophy, a ground-and- pound philosophy, which is our bread-and-butter. We have a brand new stadium that we took him over to see, we've got the best facilities in the league in my opinion. We have a bunch of great teammates and all that kind of stuff and obviously Minnesota does as well. Again our focus was talking about our situation, our football team and all that. I never asked him or got any sense at all about the other teams involved."

While there is no doubt that Tomlinson's biggest reasons for going to the Jets involved potential for more playing time than he would have gotten in Minnesota and being in a more familiar system (3-digit vs. West Coast), Ryan brings up an interesting point with the stadium and facilities that the Jets could show Tomlinson.

The Vikings aren't about to rush any free agent over to the Metrodome -- the Jets have a new venue right next to Giants Stadium in New Jersey -- and Winter Park is likely no match for the Jets new facility in Florham Park, N.J.
