Hometown: Grew up on a farm in Okabena, Minn. Now lives in Circle Pines.
Education: Home economics degree from University of Minnesota in 1969. Certificate degree in apparel technology from Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) in 1997.
Career: Has served as executive director of U.S. Industrial Fabrics Institute since 2003. Also teaches in apparel technology program at MCTC and serves as board president of Textile Center of Minnesota. Previously worked as home economics teacher and at Fiskars Corp. as a product designer for tool belts and bags used mostly in construction industry.
