The Wild looks to become the first team since the Boston Bruins in 2008 to win seven consecutive games by 2+ goals when it hosts the slumping Phoenix Coyotes at 8 p.m. tonight at Xcel Energy Center.
My editor, Chris Miller, will revert back to his beat writing days and cover the game for me, so please follow the host of the popular Sidcast at @cmillstrib on Twitter.
I thought for my Sunday Insider this week in the paper, it would be a good time to do another rendition of a Wild blog-submitted Q and A.
I will try to do another live chat for the site before the trade deadline, which is a week from today, but if you have any questions that you want considered for my Q and A, please leave them in the comment section of this blog OR you can LIKE www.facebook.com/startribunemikerusso and leave questions in the comment field of the link to this blog.
One rule: Space is tight in the paper. So no long comments or War and Peace type questions. Just quick-hitting, original, brief questions please. Read through the questions already submitted. If you see one that you were going to ask, try to come up with another.
By the way, if you missed it in the game preview on www.startribune.com/wild, here's some cool stats: On Feb. 26, the Wild ranked 30th in the NHL with 2.06 goals per game. Since then, it is tied for third with Pittsburgh at 3.54 goals per game and has climbed to 15th overall (2.68 per game). … On Feb. 25, the Wild’s power play ranked 27th at 13.8 percent. Since then, it is tied for fifth with Los Angeles at 24 percent and has climbed to tie for 13th overall (18.5 percent).
The Wild and Canucks, who won their fifth in a row with a 1-0 shootout win over Columbus last night, will jockey for position in the Northwest the rest of the way. Vancouver moved back into first with the win, but it has played two more games than Minnesota.
That's it for now. Please submit some questions and Chris Miller will be back with ya after the morning skates today.
