It's unknown what exactly the Gophers are doing with that last available scholarship for the 2013-14 season -- whether Rakeem Buckles will ever get here, whether they're saving it or whether they're going after someone else.

One recruit they don't have their eyes on, however, is Louisville transfer Zach Price. It's been reported several places that Price – who after reopening his recruitment has made visits to Purdue and Dayton and has Mizzou scheduled – had plans to visit Minnesota. With new Gophers' coach Richard Pitino's ties to Louisville, there is some sense to be made.

Not the case, a source tells me – the Gophers simply aren't interested. The other notable thing with Price is that the rising junior wouldn't be eligible right away. My thinking is that if the Gophers choose to expend that last remaining roster spot, they will do so with a recruit that could help contribute right away (since it's almost July and all, and the 2014 class is, well, pretty darn good).
