Undaunted by an anti-theft device staining the cash with red dye, a Roseville bank robber scooped up some of the loot and made his getaway, authorities said.

The holdup occurred early Friday evening at the Guaranty Bank inside the Cub Foods on Larpenteur Avenue, police said.

Officers said a man handed a teller a note demanding money and implied that he had a gun. The perpetrator fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Once outside, the dye pack exploded and stained some of the money. The man grabbed some of the dyed cash and jumped in the passenger side of a getaway SUV.

The robber is described as dark-complected black man, 25 to 32 years old, 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 9 and 140 pounds. He was wearing a brown jacket with a hood, black gloves, black pants and black Nike Air Force 1 gym shoes.
