A man didn't have far to travel after his arrest on Monday after allegedly assaulting another member of a crew working on the roof of the Stearns County jail in St. Cloud.

The St. Cloud Times reported the two began arguing and then began fighting on Monday afternoon. One man is accused of hitting the other with a rake used for spreading rocks.

Sheriff's officials arrested a 43-year-old St. Cloud man and booked him for investigation of second-degree assault.

The 23-year-old victim had a 3- to 4-inch cut on his forehead and told investigators a tooth was knocked out. He was treated by paramedics.

Sheriff John Sanner said the men were temporary employees of the company hired to re-roof the jail. Several other co-workers witnessed the argument and fight, Sanner said.
