Even better than the news that he's not touring behind another record of American standards, Rod Stewart is bringing a classic American pop singer with him to Xcel Energy Center this summer.

Cyndi Lauper will join Rod the Mod in St. Paul on Aug. 15. Tickets to the Wednesday night concert go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster at a price range that might even make a Scotsman see red, $35-$517. Pre-sale options begin Tuesday.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, still singing "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" at 72, has been maintaining a residency gig at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas over the past six years but still hits the road frequently, including a well-received jaunt last summer that first paired him with Lauper. Their Xcel Center date falls near the tail end of this summer's 22-city itinerary.
