A man wearing a fingerless glove opened the zipper on his backpack, showed the teller a gun inside, then made off with cash from a bank in Rochester, authorities said.
The holdup of the Wells Fargo branch at 919 37th St. NW. late Wednesday afternoon was the first bank heist in the city of 109,000 in more than seven years, according to FBI spokesman Kyle Loven.
According to the FBI:
The man put his backpack on the teller's counter, unzipped it and showed a gun while demanding "all the money."
He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and left in a sedan believed to be a four-door, boxy in shape and light-colored.
The man was described as white, in his 20s, 5 feet 7 to 6 feet tall and wearing prescription glasses. He was wearing a Chicago Bulls ball cap and black clothing under a white Coogi jacket. The fingerless glove was on his left hand.
