MANKATO -- There was some concern Wednesday afternoon when Vikings running back Darius Reynaud was taken off the field on a cart during a special teams practice.

Turns out the injury isn't all that serious.

Reynaud suffered a sprained left ankle and is expected to be back in a week or two. That's very good news for Reynaud, who is going to have to fight to make the 53-man roster at his new position. Reynaud had been a wide receiver for his first two NFL seasons but he changed positions this offseason.

Reynaud's best shot to stick with the Vikings is if he impresses the team with his punt return abilities. Last season, he averaged 10.3 yards on 30 returns. That job appears to be wide open at this point.
