Former Vikings safety Darren Sharper got a late start in hitting the free-agent market after undergoing knee surgery.

Last week, Sharper visited with the Jacksonville Jaguars. But now it sounds as if Sharper won't be going anywhere but back to New Orleans. ProFootballTalk reports that the veteran will sign a one-year deal with New Orleans in hopes of trying to win a second consecutive Super Bowl with the team.

Update: The Saints and Sharper have both announced that a deal is in place for the 34-year-old to remain in New Orleans. Here's the Associated Press story.
