Could Sage Rosenfels be on the move after only one season in Minnesota?

Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post reports that a team executive told him the Raiders and Vikings are discussing Rosenfels' availability. This would be interesting on many levels.

The Raiders have been one of the main teams mentioned when it has come to trade speculation involving Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, who, according to one report, would like to play in Minnesota if he is going to be dealt. There have been no indications the Vikings and Eagles have talked about McNabb.

The Vikings acquired Rosenfels from Houston a year ago and the expectation was that he would compete with Tarvaris Jackson for the starting job. Rosenfels got the start in the Vikings' preseason opener at Indianapolis, but days later Brett Favre ended his retirement and Rosenfels fell into a backup role. In fact, he was the Vikings' third quarterback all season behind Favre and Jackson.

Lombardi, a former NFL executives who is plugged in, writes that "trading Rosenfels would only happen if the Vikings know for certain that Brett Favre is coming back." Vikings officials have said they are waiting for Favre to make a decision but at this point have no idea what he will do.
