Repaving project coming to Hennepin Avenue and other downtown streets

A repaving project on the south end of downtown Minneapolis will bring lane closures along Hennepin Avenue and several nearby streets, city officials said.

A repaving project on the south end of downtown Minneapolis will bring lane closures along Hennepin Avenue and several nearby streets, city officials said.

The major impact will be felt on Hennepin Avenue itself from May 5-7 when the street will be reduced to a single lane in each direction between 12th and 16th Streets. Here is the schedule for other paving and full street closures, weather permitting:

Full closures – Wednesday and Thursday

  • Currie Avenue (west of 12th Street North)
    • Chestnut Avenue (from 12th Street North to 13th Street North)
      • Linden Avenue (from 15th Street North to 16th Street North)
        • 16th Street North (from Laurel Avenue to Linden Avenue)

          Full closures – Thursday and Friay

          • 13th Street North (from Hawthorne Avenue to Hennepin Avenue)
            • 15th Street North (from Hawthorne Avenue to Laurel Avenue)
              • 16th Street North (from Laurel Avenue to Hennepin Avenue)
                • Laurel Avenue (from 16th Street North to Hennepin Avenue)
                  • Maple Street
                    • Harmon Place (from Lyndale Avenue to Maple Street)
