Red Wings rally with five-goal second period • DETROIT 5, CHICAGO 4: Pavel Datsyuk (right) capped a five-goal second period and the Red Wings rallied to win in Chicago on Sunday, spoiling a hat trick by the Blackhawks's Andrew Ladd.

Brian Rafalski, Nicklas Lidstrom, Jason Williams and Valtteri Filppula also scored in the second period for Detroit, which came back from a 2-0 deficit to win for the fourth time in five games. Henrik Zetterberg and Todd Bertuzzi each added two assists.

Datsyuk has eight goals and 10 assists in his past 14 games.

• MONTREAL 4, ANAHEIM 3 (SO): Brian Gionta and Andrei Markov scored in the final 1:50 of regulation, and Tomas Plekanec added the shootout winner in the fourth round in the visiting Canadiens' victory over the Ducks. Plekanec also scored in the second period, helping the Habs overcome an early three-goal deficit. Markov's fourth of the season came with just 10.7 seconds left, after Anaheim's Corey Perry misfired at an empty net when the Canadiens pulled relief goalie Jaroslav Halak for a sixth attacker.

• PITTSBURGH 2, BOSTON 1: Evgeni Malkin scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period after former linemate Pascal Dupuis tied it, and the Penguins remained unbeaten since the Olympic break by beating the visiting Bruins.

• VANCOUVER 4, NASHVILLE 2: Jannik Hansen scored the go-ahead goal with just less than 6 minutes left in the third period to lead the visiting Canucks, who are 7-5-0 so far on their franchise-high 14-game road trip.

• EDMONTON 2, NEW JERSEY 0: Jeff Deslauriers made 22 saves for his third shutout of the season, and Gilbert Brule and Marc Pouliot scored in the host Oilers' victory over the Devils. Edmonton also beat the Wild on Friday night to end a three-game losing streak. Last overall in the NHL, the Oilers have only six victories since Dec 15.

• BUFFALO 2, N.Y. RANGERS 1 (OT): Patrick Kaleta banked in a rebound off goalie Henrik Lundqvist 2:22 into overtime and the Sabres beat the Rangers to end an eight-game losing streak on the road.

• PHILADELPHIA 3, TORONTO 1: Simon Gagne and Danny Briere scored in a 1:16 span in the second period, and Michael Leighton made 27 saves in the host Flyers' victory.

• CAROLINA 4, ATLANTA 0: Manny Legace made 27 saves for the Hurricanes' first shutout of the season, and Jussi Jokinen had a goal and an assist in a victory at Atlanta.

• Bruins center Marc Savard was carried off the ice because of a concussion after being leveled by Penguins forward Matt Cooke's blindside hit with 5:37 remaining in Sunday's game.Savard was on the ice for several minutes, being attended to by a Penguins team doctor, before being carried off. He was moving his legs while on the ice and his arms while on the stretcher. "It's pretty obvious that was definitely a dirty hit," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. No penalty was called.
