Red Hot Chili Peppers coming to Target Center in January

Tickets go on sale Friday for the one-night stop.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are taking their funk rock act on the road next year, with a stop in the Twin Cities, promoters announced Monday.

The tour swings by Target Center in Minneapolis on Jan. 21. Also on the bill are Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Jack Irons. The band released its newest album, "The Getaway," in June.

Tickets go on sale Friday at noon and range in price form $51 to $101 before fees. They will be available at Target Center, online at AXS.com, or call 1-888-9-AXS-TIX. Fan club members should watch for word about a presale Wednesday at 10 a.m.

"The Getaway" debuted atop the Billboard album sales chart and at No. 2. on the Billboard Top 200. It is the Grammy-winning band's seventh top 10 album since the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famers first started making music in the early 1980s.
