We'll believe it if it happens.
Sly and the Family Stone, the legendary rock-soul band led by the notoriously reclusive Sly Stone, is scheduled to perform May 2 at First Avenue in Minneapolis. At the 2006 Grammy Awards, Sly gave his first public performance since 1987.
Last year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, now 65, made a few appearances with the New Family Stone but at two festivals in Europe he left the stage after singing only a few songs. Back in the late 1960s and early 70s when Sly enjoyed such hits as "Everyday People" and "I Want to Take You Higher," he was infamous for taking the stage long after the scheduled time.
If you want Sly to take you higher at First Avenue, it will cost you $65.
