"Real World" wraps its 25th season. Wait - 25? Half a century?

Reality TV record, perhaps.

Even Gunsmoke only ran for twenty years. But they had to script shows, practice them, and act them out. For this show you just set out the drinks and roll cameras:

Yes, that real world. The one your parents told you about. Someday you'll leave the house, and you'll have to find out what it's like in the real world! Apparently that means setting up the pins yourself after a strike, because the automatic pinsetter broke and maintenance says no one can come by until Thursday. It's hard out there in the Real World.

Among the flower of American youth set to appear in this season: "Dustin attended Lamar University, and has worked as an actor in the porn industry." Also Michael, who "served three years at the Long Creek Youth Development Center for his active participation in a shooting." Should be a fun, uplifting season.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat. It’s too soon to tell how much the immigration crackdown is to blame.
