RandBall: A scouting report on Twins' Class AA Chattanooga team

June 26, 2017 at 11:58AM

A brief scouting report after watching the Chattanooga Lookouts — Class AA affiliate of the Twins — play in person Saturday:

• Stephen Gonsalves and Fernando Romero are the starting pitching prospects with more raw ability, but Saturday's starter, Felix Jorge, had good command and a good feel for the game. He gave up two runs — both on a bloop double — but generally saved his best pitches for clutch situations. His delivery and results will remind a lot of Twins fans of Nick Blackburn, which is meant as a compliment.

• Shortstop Nick Gordon, considered by many to be one of the Twins' top prospects, went 0-for-4 but remains over .300 on the season. I won't judge one game too harshly. I gave up on Denard Span after seeing one minor league game in 2005, and he turned out to be awfully good.

• Chattanooga fans love "Star Wars." That was the theme of Saturday night's game.

Anthony Edwards says his teammates call Randle “The Bully” for stretches of dominant play like he had in Tuesday’s victory over New York.
