In keeping with his new gig at a tax firm, former GOP Congressman Jim Ramstad next week will host a panel on taxes.

From the group:

MINNEAPOLIS – Picking up in his private career where he left off in government, former Rep. Jim Ramstad will join a panel of top tax experts to explain how local businesses can reap millions of dollars in potential tax incentives offered by the government. Ramstad, who recently joined the independent tax specialty firm alliantgroup, LP will be joined at the event by former IRS Commissioner Mark Everson, former US Senate Finance Committee Counsel Dean Zerbe, and alliantgroup CEO Dhaval Jadav.

"Many businesses make the incorrect and costly assumption that they aren't eligible for many powerful tax credits & incentives. This session is tailor-made for Minnesota businesses who stand to benefit from recently enacted tax credits and incentives. Too many agri-businesses, manufacturing and high-tech firms, for example, are missing out on various credits and incentives because they incorrectly believe that they don't qualify for them. We're talking about huge tax savings that too many businesses are simply ignoring," said Rep. Ramstad, senior advisor to alliantgroup, LP

Attendees will hear a discussion of current tax changes and receive a specialized briefing of brand new federal and state refundable credits and incentives available to Minnesota businesses. Some qualifying industries include: manufacturing, software, architecture, engineering, biotech, pharmaceutical, and other industries. The panelists will also answer questions and help firms with individual situations. The event is complimentary but reservations are required.
