You can head south of the Twin Cities for a day of winter fun when you check out the "The Big Freeze," Feb. 16 at Fountain Lake in Albert Lea. This family festival filled with outdoor activities and entertainment is sure to get you moving and grooving. Festivities begin at 9 a.m. at the Edgewater Bay Pavilion, and continue through 8 p.m., with children's ice fishing, a Polar Plunge, a snowshoe 5K shuffle, skydiving (register by Feb. 10 at 1-507-383-9377), sleigh rides, snowmobile races, karaoke and other music (from 3 to 8 p.m).
