New Doors single smells like L.A. Woman

The Doors will release a newly discovered 40-year-old song, "She Smells So Nice," on Monday on facebook.com/the doors. Bruce Botnick, who coproduced the band's swan song album "L.A. Woman," found the forgotten tune while putting together a 40th anniversary package of the album, which will include alternate versions of eight songs on the 1971 album.

Sam Llanas, who left the BoDeans this summer, will do a solo show Feb. 4 at the Fine Line to promote his new album, "4 a.m." ... Weird Al Yankovic returns May 3 at the State; tickets will go on sale Jan. 13.

Brad Paisley has changed the name of his 2012 trek to the Virtual Reality Tour. It was originally billed as the Camobunga Tour. It visits Xcel Energy Center on Jan. 14.

Esperanza Spalding drops "Radio Music Society" on March 20. It's a companion to her "Chamber Music Society" disc. Guests on the new project, which features covers of Stevie Wonder and Wayne Shorter, include Q-Tip, Lalah Hathaway, Jack DeJohnette, Joe Lovano and Terri Lyne Carrington.

PFR, the Christian band formerly known as Pray for Rain, has reunited and scheduled a hometown gig Jan. 27 at Church of the Open Door in Maple Grove.

Malcolm Leo is making a documentary on Jerry Garcia, based on three hours of interviews conducted in 1987. Leo has directed docs on Elvis Presley and the Beach Boys.
