Donovan is winding up a successful high school career as a three-sport athlete and captain of the soccer, hockey and lacrosse teams. She recently was chosen Mahtomedi's 2013 Athena Award winner.

Do you have a favorite sport? I actually don't. They're all so different, I love them all.

Are you going to play sports in college? No. It's crazy to think I won't be playing sports after all of the time I've devoted to them, but I think I'm ready for a break and to focus on my studies.

On winning the Athena Award: It's a really big deal. There are a lot of other great girls at this school that could have won. At the school, there are picture of all the Athena Award winners. When I was a freshman, I thought it was really cool. I always looked up to them.

What makes you a good captain? I think I 'm just a good friend for everyone on the team. I'm normally a positive person and one who helps a lot.

What position do you play in lacrosse? I'm a forward. I'm a forward in all sports.

What do you like about lacrosse? It's really new to me. I learn something new every week and I've made a lot of new friends.

Are you a natural scorer? I'm a scorer mainly in lacrosse. In the other sports, I don't score that much.

Advice for young athletes: Try to stay positive and always work hard. The hard work is what matters most.
