Q: Have your students ever given you flak for looking, well, like a student?

A: Actually no, my students never bother me beyond asking my age. It's the other teachers who routinely try to kick me out of the faculty office and copy room. It's not so bad, though, because on student appreciation days no one stops me from casually stepping into the free-burgers-and-pizza line.

Q: What was the inspiration behind PhiLOLZophy?

A: After my BFF Chrissy and I graduated college, the only way we could survive corporate America was by e-mailing each other all day, which usually ended up being our "philosophical reflections" on trashy pop culture. Eventually we wondered if anyone else would want to read it, so we started a blog.

Q: What three places are you most likely to be spotted on a Saturday night?

A: Hiding by the DJ booth at Too Much Love at First Avenue, on the Kitty Cat Klub patio, or in the North Loop at either Clubhouse Jäger or Jetset.

Q: Any dating advice?

A: Look at their shoes. The sort of shoes a person wears says a lot about them. Above all else, find someone earnest. It can't be beat.
