Lakeville North senior Jamiah Newell would like nothing better than to close out his high school football career with one last trip to the Metrodome. Lakeville North enters section tournament play with a 6-2 record.

The Panthers' leading rusher ran for more than 1,100 yards and had 11 touchdowns this season. He had a season-best 203 yards against Eastview.

Here is a closer look at Newell, who also runs track in the spring for the Panthers:

What is the best movie you've seen in the last year? "The Dark Knight Rises."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Look What You've Done" by Drake; "Cashed Out" by Lil Wayne; "Levels" by Avicii.

Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why? Lil Wayne. He's the best at what he does.

Three words my teammates or friends might use to describe me? Tough; composed; poised.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... nervous because I was a sophomore and didn't want to mess up. Plus, I wanted to show the coaches I could play.

What did you work on most before the start of the season? Speed and being a stronger runner.

What are your goals for the remainder of the football season? Help my team to another state tournament appearance, and enjoy it as much as I can.

To get focused for a game, I …play Xbox and listen to music. I'm a huge of fan of NCAA 14 to be specific; it keeps my mind off the game a little bit. I always have Lil Wayne playing in my headphones before a game.

Favorite meal before a game? Cereal and ramen noodles.

I know I have an edge on an opponent when … they ease up on the trash-talking and give up on trying to be intimidating.

What's your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Beating Prior Lake 23-3 in the quarterfinals of the Class 6A state tournament last year at the Metrodome. They stole our homecoming [10-6], but we got a second chance at them.

How did you get started playing football and participating in track? I've been playing football since second grade and loved it ever since. I've been running track since I could remember.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? I have two study halls during my school day, so I can usually get all my homework done. ... If I don't, I do it right away when I get home.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? Teams would be able to schedule more nonconference games.

Favorite college or pro sports team and why? The University of Miami. They're always really fast and athletic. Plus, I'm a huge fan of their uniforms.

In 10 years, I hope I'm … playing professional football.

Best sports advice you ever received? Respect everybody. Fear no one.
