Man shot Sunday on Irving Av. N. has died
A man who was found shot over the weekend in the Jordan neighborhood of north Minneapolis has died from his injuries, police officials and community activists said on Monday.
The shooting, the latest in a series of violent incidents in the area in recent weeks, prompted police to beef up patrols.
Police were summoned to the 2600 block of Irving Avenue N. about 3:25 p.m. Sunday by someone who reported a shooting, department spokesman John Elder said. Later, officers learned that the victim of the shooting had been driven to North Memorial Medical Center, where he died on Monday, Elder said. The death is being treated as suspicious, he said.

Officials said the 43-year-old woman, who has yet to be charged, was arrested by Minneapolis police just before 8 p.m. on Sunday. The woman is expected to be charged with aggravated robbery.
Her alleged accomplice, identified as Morgan Elizabeth Bierman, 28, was arrested on a similar charge on Friday, authorities said. The two women are accused of confronting the elderly victim as she walked home carrying grocery bags on the morning of Aug. 5, Third Precinct inspector Michael Sullivan told reporters on Monday. They said they had a gun and threatened to shoot her if she didn't surrender her purse. The incident occurred on the 3100 block of East 51st Street.
