VIEW FROM THE TOP

Have you ever noticed that some mannequins in stores are -- um -- top heavy?

Seriously, some of the busts are so big it's a feat of engineering the whole thing doesn't topple forward.

Well, maybe those double-D dummies aren't so out-of-sync after all. It turns out that breasts are getting bigger in the United States.

The median bra size a decade ago was 36C. In the '70s and '80s, the median bra size was 34B.

But now lingerie, foundation and undergarment manufacturers and retailers report that there is a demand for DD, DDD and G cups, according to Fashion Gossip Weekly. Some bra builders are even going for a K cup.

Of course, we all are thinking, "It's the obesity thing, right?" Or maybe implants?

Probably, but you can't disregard the power of Oprah Winfrey. The talk-show queen recently did bra fittings on her program and advised women to move to larger sizes to be comfier.
