"Project Runway" was the hot ticket on Friday morning, the final day of New York's fashion week. The taping of the fifth season finale included collections by the six, yes, all six remaining designers.

Judge Heidi Klum announced at the beginning that Jennifer Lopez was to be this year's guest judge. However, Lopez had a foot injury (too many high heels this week?) and was replaced by Tim Gunn. Jerell, Suede, Joe, Kenley, Korto and Leanne showed their best work. While no winner will be known until the episode airs on Oct. 15 on Bravo, Leanne with her cream and minty turquoise frocks with fabrics folded into interesting geometries, was clearly the crowd favorite. Korto's architecture- and African-inspired collection was also striking, especially with her use of bold jewelry.

It's all about sorbet for Zac Posen, who showed ruffled day dresses in hues from an orangey sherbet to lemon to pistachio. His pastels had an edge that included some black dresses that sometimes included a seemingly Spanish influence. At just 27, Posen is considered a wunderkind, but the young showman was missing an "aha" moment in this outing. No matter -- Claire Danes, Jada Pinkett Smith and Serena and Venus Williams were just a few of the famous front row faces.

Ralph Lauren doesn't need celebrities, because each ensemble in his spring collection is a luxurious star. This time, the American designer went on a safari in the Mediterranean. The romance was played up with the silkiest fabrics in khaki and buff mixed with seemingly liquid gold lame.

Some of the season's top silhouettes, including harem pants and jumpsuits, were shown. Hats by Philip Treacy topped off (ahem!) the dramatic program.
