Private cabin rentals

Should the growing number of cabin rentals be left alone, or more closely regulated?

Welcome to Just Listed, a new real estate blog that will become the go-to place for news, information and ideas about Twin Cities real estate. From time to time we'll also discuss the latest news.

This week, for example, readers are abuzz about a Sunday story (www.startribune.com/business/100197784.html) about the state's effort to notify cabin owners about rules they should be following if they rent out their cabin. Lots of readers, including one caller who said that she sold her Lake Superior cabin because she had tired of too many renters, said that they're tired of putting up with the noise and activity.

Should private cabin rentals be left only, or treated more like resorts and hotels?
