Back in the huddle

"Katie" (2 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5) sits down with Sue Paterno, widow of disgraced Penn State football coach Joe Paterno. It's Paterno's first conversation with a journalist since the scandal broke. If Katie Couric brings the same amount of skepticism she displayed in her interview with Notre Dame's Manti Te'o, this should be a doozy.

That's what friends are for

You have to be impressed by the guests David Steinberg was able to book for the Season 2 of "Inside Comedy" (10 p.m., Showtime), a kind of "Inside the Actors Studio" for comics. Louis CK and Bob Newhart kick things off; later we'll see Tina Fey, Steve Martin and Betty White. The series would be even better if Steinberg spent as much time doing pre-interview homework as he does riffling through his Rolodex.

Purple pride

Jessica Alba, swimmer Ryan Lochte and extreme skateboarder Cody Hagar are among the mishmash of celebrities appearing on "The 3rd Annual Hall of Game Awards" (6 p.m., Cartoon), an obvious attempt to be a hipper, younger version of the ESPY Awards. Minnesota Viking Adrian Peterson's oh-so-close attempt to break the single-season rushing record snagged him a nomination in the "Whoa-ment" category.
