JEFF BORCHARDT

Wayzata, football

Forgive Champlin Park for thinking there was more than one Jeff Borchardt. The senior RB/WR rushed for 141 yards, caught three passes for 61 yards and scored six touchdowns in the Trojans' 49-14 victory.

DANA BUCKHORN

Benilde-St. Margaret's, soccer

A pair of well-placed free kicks by Buckhorn lifted the Red Knights to the Class 1A championship. She scored on a free kick in overtime to beat South St. Paul in the semifinals and had another deflect in to beat Blake in overtime in the final.

CLARE FLANAGAN

Blake, cross-country

Capping a season in which she had been ranked No. 1 all year, the junior dominated the field to win her second consecutive Class 1A championship. Her time of 14:04.1 was more than 12 seconds ahead of runner-up Emily Trost of Cannon Falls.

WAYDE HALL

Stillwater, cross-country

Running a consistent race until a half-mile remained, Hall picked up the pace to pull away and win the Class 2A championship in a time of 15:21.0, helping Stillwater to its second team title in a row.

MARIA HAUGER

Shakopee, cross-country

Hauger ran her way into the Minnesota State High School League record books as the state's most successful cross-country runner. She won her record fourth consecutive Class 2A championship in a time of 13:42.0, shattering the previous best time.

KYLIE SCHWARZ

Wayzata, soccer

The senior midfielder showed off her one-on-one skills, beating White Bear Lake goalie Tarah Hobbs for a goal in the Trojans' 2-0 victory in the Class 2A championship game. She also scored the game's first goal in a semifinal victory over Blaine.

JACOB OPHEIM

Eastview, soccer

The senior midfielder guided the Lightning to the Class 2A championship. He scored on a header in the semifinals, then had two goals, including the game-winner in the 64th minute, in a 3-2 championship game victory over Blaine.
