Reggie Meyer isn't much for words.
Ask him to talk about his terrific start to the season and the 6-foot-3 shooting guard is at a loss. "I don't know how to answer that," said Meyer, who is averaging 29.1 points per game with six games of 30 or more. "The points just sort of come."
Which is the way he prefers things. Meyer lets his smooth stroke and scorers' touch do his talking for him. He led the Eagles to the championship of the Princeton Tournament, scoring 60 points in two games. Thanks to Meyer's hot hand, Totino-Grace is 8-2 and averaging more than 80 points per game.
His hot start has him weighing future options. He was leaning toward joining older brother Ben on the University of Minnesota baseball team, but he hasn't ruled out a future on the hardwood. "Right now, baseball might be my best option, but I haven't decided to stop playing basketball," he said. "Compared to last year, this has been a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying myself."

The Lightning won the Silver Division of the Schwan Cup, leaning heavily on the junior goaltender to do so. In three games, he stopped more than 95 percent of the shots he faced (60 of 63), holding Andover, Roseville and Centennial to one goal in each game.

Apple Valley • Wrestling
Considered one of the premier high school wrestlers in the nation, the sophomore pinned four of five opponents en route to the 170-pound championship of the 69-team Rumble on the Red in Fargo, N.D. Hall improved to 15-0 and was one of six Apple Valley wrestlers to take top honors in the meet.
TOBY HANSON
Delano • Basketball
A three-sport star, Hanson became the leading scorer in school history by scoring 60 points in two games in the prestigious Granite City Classic in St. Cloud. He had 32 points in a victory over Rocori and 28 in a close loss to St. Francis, giving him 1,313 career points. Hanson will play baseball at Minnesota next season.
MOLLY O'TOOLE
Hopkins • Basketball
The senior forward has stepped forward to lead the Royals to four straight victories, the past three of which came in the Dick's Sporting Goods Holiday Tournament. She scored 49 points in three games, including 21 in a 69-47 rout of Minnetonka in the finals, and was named MVP of the tournament.
MAKENA PANNING
Chaska • Basketball
The 5-6 senior point guard led the Hawks to the championship of the Eden Prairie Tournament. She scored 18 points in a 60-50 semifinal victory over the host school and had a double-double — 26 points, 10 rebounds — in a 59-53 victory over Centennial in the finals.
ALI PRAUS
Benilde-St. Margaret's • Hockey
Always considered a defensive forward, Praus showed a deft scoring touch in helping the Red Knights to the championship of the Mid-Winter Meltdown. Praus, who has signed with New Hampshire, scored five goals in three games, including her first career hat trick in a semifinal victory over Chaska/Chanhassen.
