Age clearly doesn’t matter if one is on a hot streak. Bliese, an eighth-grader who was one of only five middle-school-aged golfer in the Class 1A field, shot a two-round score of 76-74 for a total of 150, winning the individual state championship at Pebble Creek Golf Course by one stroke over Martin County West senior Cordell Weber.

Lundeen, an avid outdoorsman who recently completed his junior year, became the first individual singles champion in state high school league tournament history Saturday at the Minnesota Gun Club in Prior Lake. Lundeen was perfect in three of four 25-target rounds and missed just one in a fourth for a winning score of 99 out of 100.

After sharing the Class 3A individual championship with Wayzata’s Sarah Burnham in 2013, Neisen outdueled her close friend through the final nine holes of the Class 3A state meet Wednesday at Bunker Hills. Neisen, who has signed to play at Oklahoma State, carded a two-day, 11-under-par score of 135, winning the title outright by a single stroke.

As she has all season, the junior attacker led the Bears in goals scored in the recently completed state tournament, helping Blake to its fifth consecutive state championship. Nolan scored four goals in an 18-2 victory over Maple Grove in the quarterfinals, two more in a 9-2 nail-biter over Stillwater in the semifinals and five goals in an 11-7 championship game-victory over Eden Prairie.

The senior shook off a tough start to the second round of Wednesday’s 1A state tournament at Pebble Creek in which she bogeyed four of the first five holes, coming back to make par on nine of the final 11 holes to finish with two-day score of 159. Her score was good enough to earn her a state championship by a comfortable nine strokes over the runner-up.
