I was worried about a no-hitter after Matt Harrison went through the Twins' batting order the firs time. They looked overmatched.. Harrison didn't get the no-no, but I'm wondering where rock bottom is for this team.

The Twins have to win 12 of their last 37 games to avoid losing 100. I can't believe we're facing that again. I even looked up their draft position tonight (fourth). Ugh.

Anyway, here are three thoughts following this clunker.....

1. Diamond should appeal: Scott Diamond is going to appeal his six-game suspension for throwing over Josh Hamilton's head, which is the right thing to do. Diamond can argue that his command was off all night (54 pitches, just 30 strikes) and never intended to throw at Hamilton's head. The other thing: Cole Hamels hits Bryce Harper, tells everyone he did it on purpose and gets FIVE games. You can argue that Roy Oswalt was closer to Joe Mauer's head than Diamond was to Hamilton's. The Twins had a batter hit, a player ejected and fine and a manager ejected. And nothing has happened to the Rangers.

2. Josh Willingham should be in the lineup tomorrow. At least that's what he said through a Twins spokesman. They are going to need him to get out of this funk. What a road trip.

3. Beware of Dempster. Sorry to bring this up, but Ryan Dempster threw eight shutout innings at the Twins on June 10 at Target Field. Dempster is making his fifth start since being traded to the Rangers. He's had two quality starts and two outings in which he's given up eight runs each time.
