Greetings for a final time tonight.

with Jerry getting some time away from the Wolves, I'll be covering the next two games, the final two games before the Wolves hit the road.

Tonight's game is further proof that the team is listening to head coach Rick Adelman. From the minute the victory over Dallas was over Sunday, Adelman started preaching about building off the win rather than being satisfied with it. He said it after the Dallas game, then again before the San Antonio game.

And then the Wolves went out and executed wonderfully on offense in a victory over the Spurs.

It's too bad this one wasn't on local TV, because there was a lot for fans to be encouraged by, including:

--Luke Ridnour playing easily his best game of the season. He got five of his nine assists in the first quarter, during which the Wolves scored 35 points on 15-for-24 shooting.

--Wes Johnson finally getting his game on track. Johnson, who has struggled with his shot, was 6-for-6 from the field Monday, scoring 14 points. Between Ridnour and Johnson, the Wolves didn't need Ricky Rubio to have a great game.

--Rubio's third-quarter block on a fast-break. It might have been the single most exciting play on an exciting night.

--And the play of the Wolves defense in the second half. I can't remember when the Wolves have played as efficiently on offense and played such good defense when it mattered in the same game. Afterward Love was joking about how the coaches told him to stop helping on defense so much.

And now the Wolves will try to win three straight for the first time since a four-game streak in 2010. The team will not practice tomorrow, getting a well-earned day off.

That's about it. Have a good night.
