Weekend scenarios

The Gophers have a four-point advantage over Michigan going into the final weekend of the Big Ten regular season. That means:

• The Gophers can clinch a share of the Big Ten title with two points against Wisconsin regardless of Michigan's results. They can clinch the outright Big Ten title with three points regardless of Michigan's results.

• For the Wolverines to win a share of the conference crown, they would need a four-point swing. For the outright title, they would need a five-point swing. A maximum of six points are available in their home series against Penn State.

A look ahead

The top two teams in the conference standings will receive a first-round bye at the Big Ten tournament (March 17-19 at Xcel Energy Center). The Gophers have locked up one of those byes, while Michigan and Penn State have the chance to claim the other one.
