Q: What has happened to "Major Crimes?" There was a five-episode series, all about one murderer, and it did not return. I consider this show to be the best one on TV and it seems to be fading away. I hope that is not true!

A: As has been said here before, networks more commonly spread out their season episodes, with breaks along the way. The arc you saw wrapped up the drama's fourth season. It will be back for a fifth beginning June 13.

'The Player' is played out

Q: I really enjoyed the NBC show "The Player." Is there any chance of another season being produced?

A: No. The action drama starring Philip Winchester and Wesley Snipes was a failure. The writing was on the wall not long after it aired, when NBC cut the episode order from 13 to nine after just a handful of episodes had aired.

Water under 'The Bridge'

Q: I am waiting for a new season of "The Bridge." Diane Kruger and Demian Bichir were excellent. FX messed up!

A: FX decided not to continue the series in October 2014 after two seasons. Reviews were good but the audience declined significantly in the second season

Gray area for 'Code Black'

Q: Can you tell me if "Code Black" is returning?

A: The CBS drama starring Marcia Gay Harden concluded its 18-episode first season with the telecast "Blood Sport" on Feb. 24. At this writing, while CBS has picked up some shows for another run, "Code Black" has neither been canceled nor renewed. If we don't hear sooner, we should know its fate in May, when the broadcast networks announce their plans for next season.

'The Roosevelts' is on DVD

Q: Last year the History Channel had a seven-part series on the Roosevelt families. I DVR'ed it, watched the first episode, then had DVR troubles and lost all of it. Is this being shown again? If not, could I buy it on DVD? I don't have a computer at home.

A: I think you are remembering "The Roosevelts: An Intimate History," Ken Burns' seven-part production about Theodore, Franklin and Eleanor, which originally aired on PBS in 2014. (According to Burns' production company, it has not aired on History.) You may want to check your local public-TV outlet for replays of "The Roosevelts." It is also on DVD and Blu-ray and, if you get a computer later, Netflix, iTunes and Amazon Prime.
