It found a popular tax break, the mortgage interest deduction, cost the government $71 billion in 2015 while $29.9 billion was spent on Section 8 funding for low-income renters.
The Government Accountability Office will look into whether the Trump administration is safeguarding scientific integrity. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., asked the GAO to investigate, saying, "It is vital that science be impartial and free from interference."
