Minneapolis police are now investigating four armed robberies near the University of Minnesota in less than a week, the latest occurring at 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

A 22-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint on the walk bridge over Interstate 35W, which is near where 5th Street and 9th Avenue SE. converge. The two robbers stole cash and a cellphone, the Minneapolis Police Department said.

The victim — it's not clear if he's a student — was told to walk east off the bridge while the robbers ran west.

Police said the stickup may be linked to similar crimes in the area.

Three people have been robbed since Tuesday near the U, with thieves taking students' cash, electronic goods and school IDs.

Police described the the robbers Saturday as males ages 20 to 25 years old. One was wearing a black jacket and a black beanie hat, while the other was possibly wearing a red jacket.
