Minneapolis police detectives are looking for suspects in nine robberies or attempts that were carried out across the city in a 24-hour period on Sunday and Monday, officials said.

John Elder, a police spokesman, said today that “there is no pattern as suspect description varies and the demography of the victims varies,” in the incidents, which occurred between Sunday night and about 9:20 p.m. on Monday. As of Tuesday morning, one arrest had been made, Elder said.

In the most recent incident, a 37-year-old man was walking alone in the area of Golden Valley Road and Logan Avenue North, near North Commons Park, when he was confronted by a group of teenagers, who took his cash, according to an incident report. The victim injured his wrist in the incident, but refused medical treatment, police said.

The victim could not provide a description of the assailants, according to the report.

While robberies have fallen in three of the five police precincts — and 2 percent citywide — police have had their hands full with a recent string of armed stickups targeting Latinos on the city's South Side.
