Police and SWAT team members have tried to negotiate with an armed man holed up in a Maple Grove townhouse for the last eight hours.
Police were first called to the 7600 block of Wedgewood Court in Maple Grove a little after 2 p.m. Friday.
Police were responding to a welfare check, but when they got there they spotted a man with a shotgun so they retreated, said Capt. Tracy Stille of the Maple Grove Police.
As of 10 p.m., police were still at the scene.
