An 83-year-old man from Plymouth died early Tuesday evening when the car he was driving was hit broadside by a semitrailer truck on Hwy. 10 in Royalton, in central Minnesota's Morrison County, according to the State Patrol.
Robert John Kysar died at the scene when his 2005 Honda Pilot was hit by the southbound semi as he turned out of a gas station to go north on Hwy. 10. His passenger, Gayle Mary Steinmetz, 96, whose hometown the patrol did not list, was taken to a St. Cloud hospital with noncritical injuries.
The semi driver, Lewis Ray Olson, 71, of Baxter, was not hurt. All involved were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor, the patrol said.
