Please don't make me Powerpuff myself

Like a plague of locusts come to wreak havoc across our Facebook feeds, the "Powerpuff Yourself" website was unstoppable last week.

To promote the new "Powerpuff Girls" show, Cartoon Network unleashed powerpuffyourself.com, allowing people to transform themselves into a bug-eyed hero.

Kinda cute, yes. Also kinda annoying when everybody and their grandma does it (literally, grandmas were doing it). Headlines pinged across the Internet with words like "You can finally turn yourself into a Powerpuff Girl!" Really? Were we all hoping, wishing, praying that this would one day become a reality?

Maybe too many [blank] yourself websites have made me cynical. Remember "Mad Men Yourself"? FB friends are still milking that one to this day. Why are we so obsessed? Isn't a good ol' selfie enough?

The answer: No, no, it's not. Confession: After much hemming and hawing, I Powerpuffed myself. Just to see what it would look like, OK?

Hmmpf. I guess I kinda like it.
