The Minnesota State Horticultural Society will stage a Plant Fashion Show of new perennial, annual and shrub introductions at a fundraiser luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lake Elmo Inn, 3712 Layton Av. "Nourishing Neighborhoods, Connecting Communities" is the theme of the Community Garden Resource Fair from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Neighborhood House, 179 Robie St., St. Paul. Events include 12 workshops on topics such as composting, raising chickens, kids in the garden, food swaps, creative ways to preserve the harvest and exhibits by local organizations.
