While they weirdly played to a half-empty 7th Street Entry during the Electric Fetus benefit last weekend (most of the crowd was finding its spot in the main room for Cloud Cult), the two magi-musicians of Peter Wolf Crier at least found an audience at a prominent indie-rock label: The duo has signed a contract with Jagjaguwar, the Indiana-based record company that also put out the Bon Iver album and has worked with Okkervil River, Sunset Rubdown, Black Mountain and even (of late) Dinosaur Jr. Jagjaguwar will also issue the upcoming Gayngs MN/WI all-star record and recently gave us the Bon Iver offshoot Volcano Choir, so its Upper Midwest ties are strong now.

Per a posting on the label's site, the plan is to re-release PWC's "Inter-Be" album as-is on May 25. The record came in at No. 13 on our year-end Twin Cities Critics Tally and has earned ample Current and Radio K airplay. Likewise, the band -- M. Ward-ish singer/guitarist Peter Pisano (previously of the Wars of 1812 notoriety) and drummer Brian Moen -- has been making a strong impression at its slew of live shows of late, including a riveting set during First Ave's Best New Bands showcase in January. They'll be at First Ave again (!) this Saturday as part of Vita.mn's "Are You Local?" showcase.
