A semitrailer truck driver backed over and fatally struck a man Thursday morning at a metals recycling facility in Minneapolis, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 9:20 a.m. at Re-Alliance Iron and Metal in the 1500 block of 2nd St. N., police said.
The man was at the scrap metals processor for business purposes when he was run over by the semi, said police spokesman John Elder.
He was taken to HCMC, where he died, Elder said.
The driver is cooperating with the investigation, and drug and alcohol use do not appear to have been factors, Elder said.
Identities of the man and the driver have not been released.
