Playing their last regular-season game, the Penticton Vees finally lost.

Their 42-game winning streak ended when the Vees lost 5-2 to the Prince George Spuce Kings on the road. The Vees, loaded with Minnesotan, started their winning streak on Nov. 11 in Trail, B.C. They also had won 22 games on the road; their last loss away was on Nov. 2 in Vernon.

The Vees finished the regular season with a record of 54-4-0-2, the last column is for overtime losses. They set British Columbia Hockey League records for most wins with 54 and most points in a BCHL season with 110.

The Spruce Kings outshot the Vees 36-27.

The Vees will open the BCHL playoffs against visiting Chilliwack on Friday at home.
